評審前，有一些緊張、一些期盼、一些渴望和一些興奮。得以集天下英才的嘔心瀝血之作於面前先睹為快，何德何能、何其有幸。

評審中，有一些激越、一些困惑、一些意外和一些感動。理論與實務、現實與理想、妥協與堅持、理性與感性，孰重孰輕，有如魚與熊掌兩難之兼顧。而在百花齊放作品中的某個轉折處，往往看到不露痕跡的聰明解答和處置，而令人擊掌不已。

評審後，有一些欣慰、一些欽羨、一些失落和一些疲憊。在穿越這場台灣室內設計界的盛事後，彷彿看到時光隧道外的第一道天光。直覺上是亮，亮代表著熱情和希望，參與就是熱情和希望，優勝劣敗不是唯一的標竿。鼓勵是進步最好的催化劑，遺珠之憾何嘗不是讓自己知道輸了幾步。我真的要向所有參賽者致上敬意跟恭喜。因為有你。

後記，經濟海嘯鋪天蓋地，市況冷淡蕭條，一片死寂。可是在這裡卻發現一個驚喜：原來，創意並沒有不景氣。

2008 Comments by the Semi-final Juror

Before reviewing the projects, I was a bit nervous, a bit looking forward to it, a bit yearning it, and a bit exited. I felt very honored and fortunate to be one of the first people to look at the fine and hard works of the designers.

During the jury process, I felt a bit intense, a bit confused, a bit unexpected, and a bit touched. Design is always a difficult profession and a dilemma lingering between theory and practice, actuality and vision, insistence and compromise, sense and sensibility. I was particularly impressed by works that cleverly and seemingly effortlessly provided solutions and methods for resolving difficult problems.

After the jury process, I felt a bit gratified, a bit respectful, a bit lost, and a bit fatigued. The process was like being dragged into a tunnel and seeing light at the end of the journey. Light implicates passion and hope and that winning is not everything. I would like to thank every participant. Because of your efforts, we saw momentum and energy for a better life.

Postscript: In facing an economic slowdown, business activities are difficult, yet I found there is still bright hope. In this TID Award, I found a pleasant surprise: the creative industry is not affected by depression.
